Use extra caution as you hit the road this year. Here are a few tips to keep your holiday plans on track:

  • As the temperatures warm following a freeze, be on the lookout for black ice on the roads this time of year. Slow down and watch out for the other driver!

  • Plan for shorter days. The more light, the safer the roads. During the winter months, an earlier sunset means you've got less daylight to work with. Ideally, plan your trip to avoid driving at night.

  • Be ready if your battery dies. Cold weather takes its toll on car batteries. Double-check to make sure you've got jumper cables in your trunk. You never know when an easy jump-start could save you time and hassle — or when you could use them to help someone else.

  • Keep a blanket or additional warm clothes in your car in case you break down or get stuck. You do not want to be stranded and get cold.

  • If you have roadside assistance on your insurance policy, be sure to have that number saved for immediate assistance. If you are unaware if you have roadside coverage, be sure to check with your insurance agent.

We hope it's a fantastic 2023!!!
